Cookie Policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage used to operate the shop and, where accepted, measure visits.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small files stored by a browser. Local storage and session storage are similar technologies used by the website to remember information on a device. They may be first-party or provided by a service used on the site.

Essential shop storage

tcr_cart stores the basket in local storage until it is changed or cleared. collection-room:recently-viewed:v1 remembers recently viewed products for up to 30 days. collection-room:header-theme remembers the selected storefront colour theme until changed or cleared.

tcr_checkout_details stores completed checkout contact and address details in the current tab. The site stops restoring that draft after 30 minutes and removes it after successful checkout. Closing the tab ends this session storage.

Consent and account storage

collection-room:cookie-consent:v1 records an accept or refuse choice for optional analytics for up to 180 days. tcr_member_setup is short-lived session storage used to complete member setup.

AWS Amplify and Cognito use necessary authentication storage or session cookies to sign customers and administrators in, protect accounts and authorise requests. Names and duration may vary with the authentication configuration and token lifetime.

Optional Google Analytics

When a valid Google Analytics measurement ID is configured, analytics loads on public shop pages only after optional cookies are accepted. It is not loaded on admin, member, sign-in or checkout pages. Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation are denied.

Google Analytics may set _ga and a measurement-specific _ga_ cookie to distinguish visits. Their duration is controlled by Google Analytics and is ordinarily up to two years. Refusing optional cookies disables analytics and the site attempts to remove those cookies.

Optional shop visit counter

After accepting optional analytics, the shop records a page view on public shop pages. A random ID in tab session storage distinguishes browser sessions within each UK calendar day. The counter stores page paths, visit times and daily totals; it does not store names, email addresses or IP addresses. Session records expire after eight days and daily totals after 95 days. Refusing optional analytics disables this counter.

Stripe and other third parties

Stripe may use necessary payment-security and fraud-prevention technologies when its payment interface is opened. Embedded or linked third-party services have their own policies. Social links alone do not load a social platform into the page.

Your choices

The first-layer choice offers equally available controls to refuse or accept optional analytics. Cookie settings remain accessible from the footer so the choice can be changed later. Refusing optional analytics does not prevent essential shopping.

Browser controls

Browsers can inspect, block or remove cookies and stored site data. Blocking essential storage may affect baskets, sign-in or checkout.
